The Twelve Traditions
AA’s The Twelve Traditions are a group of principles, spiritual in their nature, which, if practiced as a way of life, can expel the obsession to drink and enable the sufferer to become happily and usefully whole.

Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon A.A. unity.

For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority – a loving God as He may express Himself in our Group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants – they do not govern.

The only requirement for A.A. membership is a desire to stop drinking.

Each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or A.A. as a whole.

Each group has but one primary purpose – to carry its message to the alcoholic who still suffers.

An A.A. Group ought never endorse, finance or lend the A.A. name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money property and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.

Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.

Alcoholics Anonymous should remain forever non-professional, but our service centres may employ special workers.

A.A., as such, ought never be organised; but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve.

Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the A.A. name ought never be drawn into public controversy.

Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.

Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.

Meetings missing in Meeting Finder
We are currently working on a technical issue with our provider to resolve an issue that is affecting our meeting finder.
October Bank Holiday 2023
GSO will be closed Monday 30th October 2023. The office will reopen for business as normal on Tuesday 31st October.
Directory of AA Groups in Ireland September 2023
The Directory of AA Groups in Ireland is now available to purchase, through the online shop or at the General Service Office. This booklet is confidential and available to AA members only.
Online Shop – Price Increases
On September 1st, prices in our Online Shop will adjust to reflect some increases in costs that have been passed onto us from AA World Services and also a V.A.T. increase that came into effect from 01/09/23.
Website Issue – Missing Counties

Maps not working in ‘Find a meeting’
UPDATE – This issue has now been rectified.
We are aware of an issue where the ‘Show on map’ and other mapping issues are not currently working as expected.
We are working with our developers and hope to have this resloved.
